Short Research Description
RFID tags as software objects
The integration of RFID readers in mobile devices such as smartphones combined with the increasing storage capacity of RFID tags opens up new possibilities for developing pervasive applications. I am investigating new ways to develop so-called RFID-enabled mobile applications that deal with the challenges posed by the distributed dynamics of these RFID applications. The central idea in my research is to represent RFID tags as mutable software objects, references to physical objects are conceived as remote references.
