Qwalkeko user study

Writing Qwalkeko queries

In this phase of the study, you are given a number of writing tasks. In each task, you're given a description and one or more matches. The task consists of writing a Qwalkeko query that fits the description, and corresponds to the given matches.

• First, make sure you have followed the Getting started instructions: Qwalkeko should now be up and running, and the userstudy.clj file is loaded into the REPL.
• At the bottom of userstudy.clj, you will find empty defns called task-2-1, task-2-2 and task-2-3. This is where you can enter your queries for the three tasks. Above each defn you'll see a comment that describes what the query should do.
• To test a query:
  • Put the text cursor anywhere in your defn and press Cmd+Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (PC) to reload the query definition.
  • Now put the text cursor somewhere in the (run-task) call directly underneath your defn. Press Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to execute the query.
  • The REPL will simply produce a boolean to indicate whether a match was found or not. (Note that, the first time you execute a query, Eclipse may jump to the console view because it printed some output.. ; you can just switch back to the tab with the REPL.)
• Just like the reading tasks, the given matches are found in the Qwalkeko-userstudy Eclipse project.
• Please measure the amount of time taken per task. There also is a 30 minute time limit per task. (You can make use of Google's timer for this.)
• Once you've finished, you'll be asked to submit your version of userstudy.clj in the final questionnaire.
