Database systems let programmers trade isolation guarantees for better transaction throughput through weaker isolation levels, at an increased risk of anomalies. Instead of burdening users to guess an appropriate isolation level, this project (Allocating Isolation Levels to Database Transactions) developed a methodology to automatically determine the best isolation level for a given group of transactions, without any risk of anomalies.
