Software Quality Analysis
Master course, taught since 2013–2014.
Instructor: Coen De Roover
Surveys automated program-analysis techniques for evaluating, assuring, and improving software quality: symbolic execution for test generation, pattern-based program querying and transformation, data-flow analysis (fixed-point theory, the monotone framework), control-flow and pointer analysis, inter-procedural analysis (context-sensitivity, IFDS/IDE), and abstract interpretation, including taint analysis for security vulnerabilities. Assessed through three practical assignments and an oral presentation on the underlying literature.
Taught continuously since the 2013–2014 academic year. See the VUB course catalog (Caliweb) for the current syllabus and schedule.
