AmbientJS is part of the AmbientTalk project hosted by the Software Languages Lab at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). The project investigates new language features or programming abstractions to facilitate the construction of software for ad hoc networks. This has resulted in the Ambient-Oriented programming paradigm and its incarnation in the AmbientTalk distributed programming language. AmbientJS is an exploration of the applicability of the ambient-oriented programming principles in the domain of cross-platform software development.
The main contributors of AmbientJS are Jasper Tack, and Elisa Gonzalez Boix. Jasper Tack is a master student at the VUB, and the main developer of AmbientJS. Elisa Gonzalez Boix is a professor at the VUB. She is a leading member of the AmbientTalk project in which she has been active in the design and development of the AmbientTalk language, prototyping its first concurrency model based on active objects.
