Open Reflective Infrastructure for Open Networks

Funded by the Flemish Government as part of a general programme for bilateral scientific collaboration, the ORION project spans the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Universidad de Chile.

The project builds upon previous contacts between both universities as part of the SENSO-network, and proposes scientific collaboration on Ambient-Oriented Programming.

Fact Sheet

Belgian Promotors : Theo D'Hondt & Wolfgang De Meuter
Chilean Promotor : Gonzalo Navarro

Duration: 1-jan-2006 till 31-dec-2007
Budget: approx. 32.000 EUR

Proposal

The ORION proposal identifies the complementary strengths of both partners in the project and details how they can be combined to achieve a full-fledged open reflective infrastructure for open networks. AmbientTalk is the virtual machine that is used to develop the work packages described in the project. Some of the work packages are service discovery abstractions, failure handling and garbage collection, all of which are currently pursued by researchers of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Should we make the proposal available in full?
